All over the world, packaging materials used in all industries, shipping and storage processes consume a large portion of our world's natural resources and forests. The production of environmentally harmful materials such as plastic, chipboard, wood and polystyrene and their chemical and heat treatment processes return to nature as greenhouse gases, waste water, heavy and toxic metals.
According to research, a total of 9.2 billion tons of plastic has been produced in the world since the early 1900s. Only 9% of this figure has been properly recycled. This means that a huge amount of it is still lying around and poses a major threat to the future of our planet.
On the contrary, reusing scrap paper in paper production reduces air pollution by 74-94%, water pollution by 35% and water use by 45%. It prevents the cycle that damages forests.
As Peca, we know the environmental and social benefits of reducing packaging waste throughout the supply chain; we produce 100% recyclable products that are alternatives to environmentally harmful packaging materials.
We contribute to a greener future with our FSC® (Proper Forest Management, ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), IREC (Renewable Energy) certificates.
Sustainability in our company is part of our mission and covers not only our internal practices and operations but also all our supply and value processes. With the responsibility we assume in this direction, we evaluate all our wastes, monitor the natural resources we use and continuously improve ourselves.
